What is a teratoma?
A teratoma is a type of tumor containing different types of tissue such as hair, muscle, or bone. In children, sacrococcygeal teratoma (at the base of the spine) is the most common form and is often detected before or at birth.
Prenatal and neonatal care
Teratomas detected on antenatal ultrasound require specialized planning. After birth, prompt surgical removal is usually recommended because the tumor can grow rapidly and affect surrounding organs. Our team coordinates with obstetric and neonatal specialists when needed.
Teratoma surgery
